No matter what their circumstances all clients have a concern about the costs involved with instructing a solicitor and we understand the need to keep costs to a minimum and more importantly to work in a cost effective manner.
We keep our hourly rate competitive, in line with the level of the experience of the Solicitor involved and reflective to the excellent quality of the advice we offer.
We made a decision for Family Law clients that we will not charge clients for supplementary events such as;
Additionally we have considerable experience handling financial settlements over many years and our solicitors do not routinely have to take second opinions from barristers or other costly experts. With almost 30 years experience, Angela Moores is one of only a small number of solicitors holding the highest level of accreditation for financial settlement on divorce.
We are confident in representing clients at routine court hearings ourselves and not involve barristers unless absolutely necessary. Involving a barrister on short routine hearing can triple the cost to the client and costs will increase even further if the solicitor also attends.
We have learnt that working with a client in line with their own budget is an important feature for a client. We will work within an identified maximum monthly amount or at a pace which suits a client’s budget. This enables a client to limit their monthly costs – just discuss this with the Solicitor acting for you.
NOTE: Not all Solicitors have the same charging structure. In our spirit of transparency on costs we set out our position in this Factsheet but don’t assume that other firms have the same structure - ask about how they approach the items bullet pointed above.
